FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions about Lucky Draw Plus.

Can I enter Lucky Draw Plus and win a prize?

Lucky Draw Plus is not a draw for you to enter and win a prize from us. It is awesome online software for you to organise and run your own live lucky draw for other people, and give out your own prizes.

You can use it to spice up your event, party or meeting, to fundraise, to encourage participation, to get customers, or just to have some fun. Check out our social media for ideas - there’s a Lucky Draw for any occasion!

Is Lucky Draw Plus easy to use?

Very easy. All you need to do is register, load your list of entries, and you are ready to pick a random winner from your list in minutes. A great default look, animation and sound effects are built in, no need for you to change or set up anything if you don’t want to or don’t have time’.

Is Lucky Draw Plus customisable?

Absolutely! You can use your own background and logos for the draw, including animations. You’ll load your own entries, deciding whether to pick numbers, names, or a combination of both, in any language. You’ll choose the timing of your draw - how long and fast you want the draw to spin before the random winner is picked. And finally you’ll pick your draw style, winner animation and sound effect options.

How many entries can I have in my Lucky Draw?

We don’t limit the number of entries you can load for each draw at all, so in theory this is unlimited. However in practice, the device you are using may limit you, depending on the amount of memory that it has. To give you an idea, you can easily handle 300 000+ entries on a mid-range laptop a couple of years old, so you should be good for most draws.

If you have way more entries than that, how about splitting your draw into heats? Draw a winning name for each heat, and then enter those winners into a Grand Finale.

Does every entry have an equal chance of winning the Lucky Draw?

Yes. The winner is picked randomly from the full list of entries. Say you have an entries list with 100 entries, the winner will be picked randomly from the full list, so each entry has a 1/100 chance of winning.

If you want some entrants to have a higher chance of winning, repeat their entries in your list. For example, you have 100 comments on your social media post. 10 of them came from User1. Repeat User1 10 times in your entries list - now they have a 10/100 or 1/10 chance of winning.

If you are doing multiple draws at one event, say for first, second and third prize, then you can use the ‘Remove winner from list after draw’ feature if you do not want the same winner to win twice.

What size screen can I present my live Lucky Draw on?

Lucky Draw Plus is designed to adapt to all screen sizes from mobile up to very large. So whether you are streaming from your mobile or laptop, or presenting to a live audience with a projector or a large high resolution TV or monitor it will still look stunning, and be unforgettable.

Make sure that if you upload your own images they are high resolution images so they look crisp at very large sizes. You should design your images for the screen resolution you intend to use for live presentation.

Lucky Draw Plus has a fullscreen mode so that the draw shows your full screen design perfectly - it won’t look like a website.

What do I need technically to do a Lucky Draw?

Lucky Draw Plus is a website, so you don’t need to install anything!

To run a live draw you will need:

For all events:

  • internet access

  • a web browser

  • a device (mobile, tablet, PC etc) to control your Lucky Draw from. The device you use needs to have the ability to upload your entries file (spreadsheet or CSV), but it does not need to have Excel installed.

For in-person events:

  • a screen or projector to display your Lucky Draw live to your audience

  • sound system or speakers, if you would like them to hear the sound effects

For virtual events:

  • streaming or screensharing software to share your draw live

  • you can also pre-record your draw, and share it later if you don’t want to draw live

How do credits work?

  • You can buy credits on a pay-as-you-go basis.

  • Each one credit allows you to do one live draw (pick one random winner).

  • That one draw can have unlimited entries in it.

  • Credits do not expire, and there is no time limit to use them in.

  • You can buy more credits at any time to add to your balance of remaining credits.

  • Each time you do a live draw, you will use up just one of your credits, no matter how many entries there are.

  • An email will be sent to you each time you do a live draw, detailing your remaining credits.

  • Test draws do not use up credits, and you can do an unlimited number of test draws.

  • You can view a history of your payments, and download your invoices, in the Invoices page.

  • You can view a history of your draws (both live and test), and their winners, in the Results page.
